The fact that so-n-so won a race, or fifty, doesn't mean anything in itself,
but Chances Are..., if several in the family are successful at
something(performance) that there are contributing factors that are being
passed along, such as correct performance conformation, strong efficient
metabolic and a good, steady mind.
Obviously, the endurance successes themselves are not genetic, but physical
and mental characteristics/traits/types are. Characteristics that
contribute to a horse being able to do the miles or not, or maybe he can do
them, but he needs a lot of, or special, management.
