We sponge or scoop down here in the SE, whatever is appropriate for the
training ride or endurance ride, and I have noticed that some "scoopers" will
scoop and rinse the horse while the horse is drinking from the trough.
Sounds very refreshing IF that is a private tank for that horse! But, I'm
sure you can imagine the water being poured over the top of the horse while
it is drinking, going right back into the trough. Kind of runs down the neck
like a slide. Seems like the general consensus here is that scoop or sponge,
follow the ride rules and just some very basic courtesy and common sense
towards other riders! And be thankful there IS water avaliable! :-))
