The May 7, 2000 Tri-County Arabian Club's Blue Mountain Gallop is a GO! You are summoned to the challenge! This year's 55 mile Endurance Ride, which is in PA, west of Allentown and north of Reading near Summit Station, features a new way to the mountain top, most of which is through a mature forest, from a new base that is easy to get into and out of. An extremely demanding River crossing was taken out for this year. There's still plenty of challenge what with the long slow climbs, and the treeless, steep Rattlesnake Run to go down. There are some beautiful views and forest. Footing is solid with several rocky sections. There are mountain stream crossings sprinkled in along the cool wooded areas. Most of the way is wooded with hemlock, maple, oak, mountain laurel, and beech. Part of the Appalachian Trail is used that is a long dirt road in the State Game Lands. This ride, sanctioned by AERC and ECTRA, always attracts some of the world's best endurance riders and horses. There will be plenty of drinks and good hot food. Volunteers are welcomed with open arms and free lunch! For entry forms, directions, or more information, contact: Brickson@delanet.com or call 610/489-1419 Bridget Brickson Jeff and Bridget Brickson
