Bloodlines and Arabs
I don't know if Karahty is a Full Arab or not. The fact that he is not
listed in my research may indicate that he is not. I thought that this
might be of interest the list. It is a listing generated from an extract
from the AERC database of any full Arab with 2000 or greater career miles as
of about a year ago. That extraction was run against the Registry data for
each horse. The bloodline data was collected going back 5 generations on
both the Dam and Sire sides. This created two data sets; the Dams and Sires
for the 900+/- AERC Arabs. For example, the Dams table was indexed by the
AERC # of the Dam and listed the Dams Mother, Dams Mothers Father, Dams
Mothers Mother, Dams Mothers Fathers Father... this went on for 31
iterations ending with Dams Mothers Mothers Mothers Mothers Mother. The
same was done on the Sire side of the each AERC Arabs with the requisite
mileage. The pool of 900+/- AERC Arabs also had to have an AHR# to be
involved in the study; all but 13 of the eligible AERC registered Arabs
AHR#'s were identified. The resulting population of horses who comprised
the five previous generations of AERC Arabs was then compiled and ranked by
the number of times they turned up in the bloodlines of the AERC Arabs. The
following is an extract of all that occurred at least 50 times.
