D--n straight, Darolyn! Sponging horses at water stops doesn't bother me a
bit. But I sometimes wonder at people's lack of consideration when towards
the end of a ride when the weather is extra warm and the water barrels are
low, riders will happily scoop, one after the other, scoopfulls of water to
pour on their horses. It is apparent that there will probably be no more
water supplied to this location and there is little consideration for the
riders who will follow with horses who are just as dry and thirsty and may
well find empty water barrels. Not that's what gets my goat.
