Crewed for one horse who would not drink until we put a sponge in the
bucket.  Seriously.  I guess if you have a water shortage, it's more
thoughtful not to use the water for sponging.
Personally, I train my horses to drink whatever by not cleaning the
troughs at home.  The goldfish eat the algae and mosquitoes, and I dump
and refill when I have time.  No picky drinkers here!
