Don't see why you need a flame suit Wendy. I'd just like to make a
couple points tho:
Tevis only needs people to engage their brain cells, not a qualifier
race. I'm not sure requiring a qualifier would reduce the
pulls. I haven't looked at any statistics on whether more people
who have never done a 100 miler before (and/or their horse hasn't) are
pulled than those who have done a 100 miler before - I think I would want
to know that before thinking about qualifying reqirements for Tevis or
any other ride. Not that any of us make the rules, anyway.
Second, stud is also a term for stallion, just as the word horse is also
used to mean stallion. Just like colt is used to mean foals or
young horses of any sex, pony is used sometimes to mean any horse
at all that you ride, and the word bad sometimes means good.... Now
whether anyone using those terms this way will actually be *understood*
is an entirely different issue! Lif
