SureLytes
My sister (Sandy Terp ~ Neigh-Per-Say) sells
this product and I tried it on my horse at the USA East Benefit last month. I
didn't pre-load, and didn't give quite as much as the label recommended, but
overall I think it helped. This horse is very anxious (not green, he's 15)
and tends to not eat away from home, and I was hoping a carbo product would peak
his appetite. He still didn't eat breakfast, and not much at VC1, but ate well
at VC2 and after. He had plenty of energy (usually does) great recoveries (also
as usual) and was not especially jazzed up (no more than usual). I did also give
him an ounce of Endura-Max at each hold as I felt the SureLytes did not have
quite as much electrolytes as I thought he needed. The biggest difference in
ingredients that I saw between this product and Ivers' formula and CarboLoad is
that this product does NOT contain chromium, and both Ivers and Roger
Rittenhouse (who was very generous with his knowledge and experience at the
ECTRA convention) think the chromium is pretty important. And it may be, I was
going slowly on a fairly easy ride in cool weather, at higher speeds and dosages
you may need the chromium to stabilized the blood suger level. Just my thoughts
~ what I have seen others call one rat research! I still have most of the tub if
anyone wants actual label numbers.
