All of the really knowledgeable people must be off on rides---but---I did have a foal with ulcers - they lasted off and on until he was past two (diagnosed by the vet but NOT diagnosed endoscopically). After the initial treatment with an antibiotic, he was on cimetidine (from Wal-Mart - just multiply the people dose by the weight) off and on, whenever he seemed to flare - I just kept it on hand and gave it to him when he was acting like his tummy was hurting. He also got Pepto-Bismol and/or Maalox---but not at the same time as each other (something about counteraction). Also, I gave him yogurt on a regular basis---about 10 cc twice a day--it really seemed to help his gut. He was small--so I would give a big horse more. I also found he liked vanilla best---he actually looked forward to his yogurt. He might have eaten it on his food--but I just squirted it in his mouth with a syringe. Maybe some of this is helpful. Good luck.
