Re: Fear
Even after many miles, and alot of them fairly fast, I too am afraid of the
speed and falling - I have found that I am at my best when I am riding alone
(more control over the speed and the horse himself) and when the terrain is
difficult but not DANGEROUS (so you can go at a moderate speed and still be
in the race). Unfortunately, there are fewer of these types of races left -
many of them are very fast and many horses, so you can never be alone to
ride your own race. I do think that the ones who are not afraid sometimes
are really more danger to themselves and to their horses.
