Maggie,
I was talking to someone a couple years ago who bred gaited horses, and she
told me that if it was a gaited stallion on a non-gaited mare, the foal could
be either, but if it's a gaited mare with a non-gaited stallion, the foal will
gait. It held true for the couple friends of mine who bred Walkers to Arabs,
but I don't know of anyone who's gone the other way so don't know if this is
true all the time or just the one breeder's experience.
