Re: RC: riding partner problems....
Hi Juli
Vent all you want!!! I know the feeling. I was riding with friends out
of state for a week. They knew my horse was buddy sour, and I explained that
we occassionally needed to walk away from them, then come back to the group.
Well, it appears that some of them didn't like that idea, and while I was
several hundred feet of them, one of them rode directly at me at a full
gallop, and kept right on going! Well, my guy was not going to sit for that
one, and while turning him, for one minuet second, didn't have him
completely, he got away from me. They later told me that their horses
couldn't stand the fact that one guy left them, and their horses were
uncontrollable! The one rider decided to teach me a lesson, a very dangerous
lesson. I was told that "endurance people rode differently", and that I
should stay with them as a group. Needless to say, I never rode with them
again.
I learned a very valuable lesson that day, and it had nothing to do with
my horse. There are very good riding buddies out there. It takes some
experimentation, but you will find one. Good luck.
