SELENIUM & E

Sara Ralston recently stated that Vitamin E loses its
potency quickly after opening.

Does this also apply to selenium with E?

I understand that the "E" is needed for the horse to 
use the selenium. I bought a large quantity last year
and now wonder if it's doing any good.
