There was an article recently in The Whole Horse Journal about sweeneys. I
don't know about Indian thumb prints, but the sweeneys mentioned in the
article was a debilitating injury.

I have heard them called sweeneys and one of our breeder friends calls
it
the "mark of Allah". Haha! :) I wouldn't think it would be a cause

concern. Our stallion has a good sized one that doesn't interfere with
any
of his activities.
