Total taxes state, federal and local are about 0.40 per gallon. It isn't
clear if this number includes corporate income taxes which of course are not
truly gasoline taxes. Federal taxes are about $0.18 per gallon, and again it
isn't clear exactly what is included. Information from Chevron's web site
