I imagine that  there are a lot more trainers than we want to think about of
all sexes and backgrounds that fits the description.  I know a John Lyon's
certified trainer that does similar things to his clients and a lot of his
ex-students never really recover emotionally.  This trainer would call me a
"crazy endurance rider" and tell his clients not to go out on the trail with
me.  (I didn't even start riding endurance until last year, so I guess I
will just continue to get crazier...)  So many of his ex-students are bitter
about the whole experience.

Hi!
Just curious.....was your trainer's first name Gretchen???. I had a
trainer like that years ago with that kind of attitude. She was very
talented, but made me feel like a real dud. After my horse & I began to
win over her at small schooling shows she actually came up & drew a sign
on the ground in front of me & said that I would be "hexed".  It was a
waste of her efforts to "hex" a Christian. I did get rid of her as a
trainer, however. Good riddance.
