I've discovered the lack of hitching posts is a real issue when using your 
horse for transportation.  I live near a small town and we occasionally "go 
to town" for a soda or for the mail and I have to hit someone up to hold the 
horse for me while I go into the store.  Otherwise, Special works out just 
fine as transportation.
