Re: West Nile virus
News reports here in the US last fall stated that healthy people with
functioning immune systems should be able to fight it off, and may never
realize that they were infected, you could simply have a pounding headache
for a day or so. We may be surprised if we do some random testing of humans.
So I suppose the same could be true for our horses, many more may be exposed
and never exhibit symptoms. And I am not sure if what we are facing in the
NE USA is the same West Nile Virus found in Egypt, officials seem to make a
point of calling it West Nile-Like Virus, so perhaps it is a
never-seen-before strain.
