Yes, often done upon greeting, but I watch the horses through my window
over the desk & have seen our horses stretch upon getting up or
waking up from a nap, no people around.
I think stretching might be a way of preparing for doing something.
A change from total relaxed mode to action mode. They certainly
don't seem to stretch when going the other way - from action mode to
relaxed.
