RE: Tick Remedy
Lyme Disease is endemic in this area (Maryland), and lots of horses around
here have gotten it from the deer ticks. My vet said that garlic might help
to repel the little monsters, but when I tried feeding it last year my
gelding just sifted it to the bottom of his sweetfeed. And he got Lyme,
though I was lucky to catch it very early.
This year I've started feeding the garlic (or, the barn goddess has)
dissolved in soaked shredded beet pulp. My horse is so greedy for beet pulp
and any extra, beet pulp-flavored water, that he's gobbling it up.
Got my fingers crossed.
