Horses and dogs
One of the other boarders where my gelding lives brings her young, playful,
birding-type dog along with her. Yesterday something new happened. Her dog
was jumping all around my gelding as I was grooming, and twice my boy raised
a front leg to warn off the dog. Never seem him do such a thing before --
he doesn't pay any attention to the dogs that belong to the farm. Should I
discipline him for such behavior, or consider it good self-preservation? I
don't want to allow/encourage dangerous behavior, but I also don't want to
discourage him from asserting/protecting himself when it's appropriate.
