Re: F250 vs F350
The difference is in the payload capacity of the truck alone. The 350 has
larger components capable of higher truck payload - wheels, axles, brakes.
The trailer has its own brakes and puts only 10 - 15 % of its weight on the
truck frame, axles, and wheels. You do not gain any towing capacity because
the drivetrain is the same in both vehicles. In fact you lose a bit because
the truck with larger components is heavier and the combination weight of
truck and trailer remains the same.
Duallies (which is unrelated to 250/350 - it is possible to special order a
250 with dual tires and a 350 without) will decrease rear end sway.
