We are raising our babies on the roughest pasture we could find within an
hours drive of the Metroplex. Not really large, only about 50 acres, and
nothing real dramatic, but not a flat inch on it. Lots of rock, cedar and
prickly pear, not too much pretty green stuff, they have to travel for their
grass and water. We haven't been here long enough to be riding any that
have grown up here, but I'll be letting you know in a few years how it is
going.
the downside would be the chance of injury.
