Re: RC: Re: IAHA insurance exclusion
Um, Sue, most of us buy insurance expressly to protect ourselves and others
from our own negligence. Most insurance policies cover negligent behavior
but not intentional behavior. So, this exclusion by the insurance policy at
issue IS significant. Negligence does have to be proven, obviously, but some
things that we all do are negligent. Daydreaming while driving or riding,
for instance, or following another vehicle or horse too closely. If auto
insurance policies didn't cover negligent acts like these two, we'd all be in
trouble. However, given the fact that members of IAHA get this insurance
policy as a bonus for membership, I don't think that we have a lot of room to
complain.
