should help answer some of your questions.  I use the boots over shoes, and 
use them on the front feet.  At a multiday day ride I tend to take them off 
each day so I can inspect the foot and leave them off overnight.  I have 
left them on for an entire week with no problems.  It depends on the horse, 
the terrain, time of year, etc. as to whether or not I am comfortable just 
leaving them on or not.
