I think the post calling for x-rays is very good advice.If they come back
clean I would offer this suggestion.Have your farrier make a hospital shoe
for your horse.After this has been made scrub the foot out good with a iodine
soap.This is where it starts sounding kinda funny.For the first one or two
days pack the foot with a product called Animalintex this is a very good
drawing agent.Then make a mixture called sugerdine its a mix of suger and
iodine.Just mix the two together until it is a think paste.Pack the foot with
that and put the hospital plate on and do this daily.I would also keep the
antibiotics going.After you get it cleared up you may want to let him wear
the hospital plate for a few shoeing to insure that the sole has had time to
repair itself and not let any bacteria enter the wrong area.Hope this helps.
