The 2003 PAC is located in Trout Lake, Washington, an hour and a half northeast of Portland, Oregon, and a half-hour north of Hood River, Oregon. The small farming and logging community of Trout Lake is made up of a gas station, a general store, and a home-style restaurant. Ride camp is located five paved miles north of Trout Lake in the Gifford-Pinchot National Forest at the Mt. Adams Horse Camp. Camp is in a grassy 80-acre field, with a mountain view from the south end, surrounded by Douglas fir forest.

Prepare to be self-sufficient. You're in the middle of the woods. There will be drinking water, horse water, and some food vendors on site. We'll update you as we know more about what and when.

Horse Stabling:

Horses must be kept under control at all times, and by Monday, September 8th at the latest they must be contained within solid portable corrals (or tied securely to the trailer) while in the stable area.

The stable area will consist of the entire ride site surrounded by tall evergreens to distinguish the parameter. Each country will be designated ample space for their team of horses. Site locations to be drawn by lottery. Since the stable area and the entire site of the event is not surrounded by a fence, and in interest of the safety of all the horses, electric fencing of any kind is strictly prohibited. Horses must be kept under control at all times, and within solid portable corrals while in the stable area. Horses must remain within their individual stable enclosures between the hours of 11pm to 5am with the exception of race day. In view of the relaxed stable security requirements, each country/zone will therefore be accountable for the safety and security of the horses under their care. Stewards shall undertake periodic patrols throughout the day and night to assist and enhance stable security.
