The organizers of the 2003 Pan American Championship extend an invitation to the media to be a part of the excitement of the CEI*** at the magnificent endurance trail at Trout Lake, WA. We look forward to assisting you to gather the information you need to tell your readers/listeners/viewers the stories about the incredible human and equine athletes that will be representing their countries in the challenging equestrian discipline of endurance.
Because PAC 2003 is in the midst of a wilderness area with limited facilities, we ask that notify us of your intent to cover this event so we are prepared to accommodate you. Find attached a Media Accreditation form which should be faxed (or the information e-mailed) to the Media Officer by August 31. Your request will be acknowledged shortly after it is received. Also find attached a tentative Media Schedule.
Regarding the media facilities -
Base camp for the ride is in the middle of the Gifford-Pinchot National Forest. Some cell phone service at the camp is available (ATT works best; others may work on “roam”). There will be no telephone lines at base camp, however, there will be phone lines (800 or calling card only) and use of a fax (for a fee) available at the Sprint Communications booth at the King Vet Check, 4 miles from base via paved road. This facility will be available throughout the week. In addition, on race day, a limited number of computers with internet access will be available, free of charge (compliments of Sprint).
A media tent will be set up at the base camp, with a limited amount of work space, and to facilitate the two scheduled press conferences. Media kits will be available, and the media officer will be on hand to assist in organizing interviews, etc.
Please visit the PAC 2003 website
